NVIDIA vs. AMD | Which GPU Should You Buy?
Another RUclipsr thinking that know better than the engineers designing this stuff
That condom threw me off LMFAO
7:20 If I want performance, I will go back to direct die and liquid metal. I am lazy.
5600 hitting 90° again. Change paste again. Want to just set it and forget it. Looking for a good pad.
AND ABOUT PERFORMANCE? UNDERVOLT AFFECT THIS GPU SPEED?
(Talking generally, less about this video) This is terrible, nothing about it makes sense or is explained. (You may think, how silly or absurd, but I say why.) With undervolting one would think one would actually simply reduce the voltage, to allow for better temps and maybe MHz, if one wants. Case closed. However, it's actually stupidly intertwined with automatic overclock at a random point. And this is somehow taken for granted, or at least it's NOT anywhere explained what's the difference in the settings or how to avoid it (or how the internal driver or whatever logic would "intelligently" coordinate the changed voltage and MHz association on its own, so an automatic overclock doesn't happen). The fact of the matter is, one doesn't undervolt or touch volt, one says at which point of volt to go into overdrive or overclock (even if it doesn't need to). It ultimately has to come down to the driver logic not being bound to this and doing its own thing of when to boost... And thereby the voltage falling in line. Well, this and other fundamentals need to be explained in a guide or "explanation" (regardless of "figuring it out"), but is nowehere. And it is still an overly convoluted process for what one is supposedly doing.
You have to be careful about having too much paste spread over the edges of the CPU, because is can cause conductivity between the pins and fry it. It is better if the paste doesn't reach the edges at all.
I’ve used IC thermal pads almost exclusively for the last six years (building five or six PCs in that time). The temp differences are small vs paste and the convenience factor is much higher. Also much easier to deploy on irregular CPUs like the Ryzen 7800x3d.
I have a little metal miniature model of the Eiffel Tower holding up my gpu.
Working in data centers, I've had to replace processors with dried up grease after narrowing it down to a bare minimum components.
BY A 4080 AND CLOCK IT LIKE A 4070 ! MMM Funny ! lol just pay 100 for a good case no noise fan and your ok ! lol
I have a super rtx 2060 and I don't see whores editor, do you know why?
Excellent experiments of thermal paste usage. Thank you! 👍🏻
thanks for doing all this tests and putting it all together in a great video
my pc is on 24/7 365 why ? because turning it on and off is more expensive and can damage your processor. leaving it on is way cheaper.
My computer is definitely a space heater as well. Not only does it substatially heat my home office / gaming room, but i have disabled my central heating in that room and the computer keeps it warm enough in the winter alone. And when ever i do get a bit chilly i just boot up a performance intensive game.
The virgin Intel stock CPU cooler vs the Chad AMD Wraith Prism cooler
Have you tried the alternative brands? Amazon has a 40 pack of graphene thermal pads for $13. I instantly think RUN! However maybe the other companies are just makin MASSIVE profit and they are in the same ballpark.
well i guess im too scared even after watching this i guess ill let it do someone else one day
❤
Nice tutorial, thanks!
Can i just not do a dot and then spread it before applying the cooler?
As soon as i commented you tried the exact method lmfao
That is a nice video idea but utterly stupid to think for real life
I know practically nothing about what’s inside my gaming PC. I had it built for me. It started to overheat recently, and after checking everything I could to fix it there was no denying it was the paste. Since I’m so ignorant in this category of life, I was sad and scared it was that. I didn’t even know where my CPU was. 😂 When you show what to remove my mind was blown! Haha So easy! My cooler came off so easily, and it was so much easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for making this video! ❤
thanks
I'd be concerned about it spreading over the edge of the processor and onto other components. I am guessing this is bigger issue with liquid metal, which is electrically conductive. Also, I'd dislike the CPU edges not being covered, but I don't think this is as much of an issue as overspreading.
Mine goes to 100 degrees celsuis 🥵🥵🥵
my mission rn is to buy the heatsink with smol fan, rgb and light pollution
Matters when overclocking
So what you're saying is this isn't actually a problem but a thing that makes everything worse so that you have to buy something to get it fixed. Fuck that
thanks so much
Astrix is the way can't believe you didn't try that!
anyone test on gtx 1650
Can I use water if I don't have alcohol?
Great video
Great 👍
Spread thermal paste on both the CPU and baseplate
Recently, I bought a tube of MX6 Personally, I hate this shit. It spreads like tar but I mean, I completely destroyed the surface of my CPU with it, we’re talking like I botched a spread then I drew a pattern on top of it and it’s going over the sides That said it didn’t matter. It’s running very cool , It never matters as long as there’s enough.
Fun
Hold on, was that 130w on idle? That sounds like strangely large numbers. I dont have a power meter, but the self-reported numbers from my components total to 40w total when idling. Do you have any kind of breakdown of your idle numbers? For example how much of a difference would it make to just turn off the screen and leave the computer on? You're wasting money anyway I suppose, but it would still be interesting to know, especially since most modern components will idle really well. The GPU you have should idle at less than 20w.
I'm sad that this channel is gone.. loved all the thermal stuff!
the devs K what they are doing - very user friendly UI
haha had to come here cause the CPU in the pre built i bought is reaching 90 Celsius and im thinking the guy who built it didn't even put thermal paste on
or my cooler is just shit
can someone help me i dont have the optiong for the curve editor i use control f too it doesnt open
The 4080 series absolutely needs a bracket. It’s actually kind of frustrating. I spent a year trouble shooting my computer because my GPU wasn’t working properly. It ended up being the motherboard connection not being fully seated because the GPU was too heavy.
i just put in a new fan and changed the thermal paste but my laptop just gets hotter and my ping in every game i play is so high i cant do anything so do anyone know why
I always just add 4 small dots around the x to smooth that last part out.
Combine pea and X method 😏
I got this link from another website and didn't expect this video
Thermal paste is great on bagels give it a try!
